Justice Department Files Criminal Charges Against Rep. George Santos

<p>Today, federal prosecutors have announced criminal charges against New York Representative George Santos, a Republican lawmaker. The charges come after a lengthy investigation that uncovered a pattern of lies and fabrications from the politician. The exact charges against Santos are still under seal, but it is believed that the Justice Department&rsquo;s public integrity prosecutors and the FBI were looking into allegations of false statements in his campaign finance filings and other related claims.</p> <p>Santos&rsquo; attorney declined to comment on the charges, however a spokeswoman for the congressman, Naysa Woomer, refused to answer questions from reporters.
